Meet Peter Stone,
Passionate Chef & Wine Connoisseur

Peter Stone’s expertise is backed by 22 years of experience as a nationally renowned chef and celebrated wine connoisseur. He began his impressive culinary career at the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group in 1987. Over the years, Peter has worked at the prestigious Pano & Paul’s Restaurant, Buckhead Diner, Pricci and Atlanta Fish Market, to name a few. After graduating from the renowned Culinary Institute of America in New York in 1996, he worked at the acclaimed Magnolia’s restaurant in Charleston, South Carolina, as a sous chef. From there, Peter went on to open and serve as the head chef at Ellis Creek Bistro  on James Island, near Charleston. In 2000, Peter was named head chef at Kiawah Island Beach Club. 

Peter and his family moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina in 2002 to open Toxaway Wine & Cheese, a gourmet shop that features fine wines and cheeses, select cuts of meats and fish, along with an array of gourmet dips and sauces. Over the the past ten years, Peter designed and opened Maple, a critically acclaimed upscale restaurant, in Brevard, North Carolina, where he served as chef and owner for a year and then continued on as a consultant.

Peter's focus now centers around his new spice rub line, gourmet meats and specialty foods featured on his new website. And look for more private labels from Peter in the upcoming months.

As a renowned  chef and wine connoisseur, Peter continues to share his knowledge of food and wine to his loyal customers at Toxaway Wine & Cheese. He also annually caters exclusive wine dinners, where he designs and prepares multi-course "Big City" dinners in the comfort of your home.
